Pomegranate mug
Pomegranate mug
Cozy vibes: This mug has a richness to it that feels almost ceremonial, like something carried forward from an older, slower world. The deep red, the forest green, the bold painted fruit, together they conjure something ancient and abundant, the feeling of a table set for a long unhurried meal, or a kitchen where something good is always simmering. Fill it with a dark tea or a spiced coffee and let it set the tone for the morning. This is not a quiet mug. It is a generous one.
A wide, low, softly irregular form, hand-shaped so that the body has a gentle organic quality. The rim dips and rises slightly, giving the mug an almost sculptural silhouette from above. Bold, hand-painted pomegranates bloom across the surface, each one painted in deep crimson with dark crown tips, painted with a confidence and looseness that makes them feel alive. Dark green branches and leaf clusters wind between them, trailing around the body in a way that feels like folk art and completely contemporary at the same time. The handle adds additional boldness and finesse, a circular loop glazed entirely in a deep forest green and curled inwards at the base. Against the white body it makes a striking contrast, the kind that stops you before you have even picked it up. Designed to hold ~230 ml (8 oz) comfortably.
Each of our handmade ceramics are made by independent artists in small batches.
Handmade ceramics carry the marks of their making. Variations in color, texture, and form reflect the artist’s process. Each piece is shaped by hand, just once, and in its own way, making it uniquely yours.
About the artist: This piece was made by Maryam, a ceramic artist based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Originally from Iran, Maryam has lived in Georgia for nearly a decade and discovered ceramics after touching clay for the first time. What began as an immediate love quickly became a life’s work.
Only a few months after she began working with clay, Maryam started teaching ceramics herself. Since then, she has taught more than 150 students in English, Georgian, and Persian, sharing not only technique but also the simple pleasure of making something by hand. Her love of teaching is woven into her studio practice, from ceramic classes to tutorials, and it is clear that she sees clay as something meant to be shared.
Over time, Maryam has become a well-known ceramic artist in Georgia, with her work featured on Georgian television and in local media. Each piece she creates carries her bright, generous spirit. Expressive florals, fruits, leaves, bold handles, playful forms, and hand-painted details that makes every mug feel alive. Her designs feel both whimsical and practical, made for daily rituals but full of personality. Each of Maryam's pieces are made with love and care from her home studio in Tbilisi.
