Parchment mug

$85

Cozy vibes: If the Mahogany Mug is an evening mug, this one belongs to the early morning. The hour before anyone else is awake, when the light is still grey and soft and everything feels unhurried. There is a simplicity to this piece that asks nothing of you, no bold color, no painted detail, just a beautiful form. Set it on a pale linen cloth or a wooden tray and it looks like it has always been there. The kind of object that makes a space feel more considered simply by existing in it.

The same sculptural hand-pressed form as the Mahogany Mug, this time glazed in a warm, creamy parchment that sits somewhere between soft oat and warm sand. The glaze has a glossy finish that catches the light gently, pooling slightly around the folded vertical ridge that runs down the body. That ridge is the defining detail of this piece, a soft panel of clay pressed into the form by hand, creating a natural place for your fingers to rest when you hold it. A small notch at the rim gives it the faintest suggestion of a pour spout, architectural and understated. Available fully glazed or half glazed, the half glazed version revealing the raw clay beneath and adding just a whisper of texture and contrast to the lower half. Designed to hold ~250 ml (8.5 oz) comfortably.

Each of our handmade ceramics are made by independent artists in small batches.‍

Handmade ceramics carry the marks of their making. Variations in color, texture, and form reflect the artist’s process. Each piece is shaped by hand, just once, and in its own way, making it uniquely yours.

About the artist: Luuk Ceramic Studio was founded by Büşra, a ceramic artist based in Latvia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Art and Sculpture.

Through her work with clay, an earth material, she deepens her connection to the world and to herself, a material that has held traces of touch, time, and memory for thousands of years, and this connection continues to shape her approach.

She creates vases, sculptural objects, and tableware using handbuilding techniques. A sense of movement and flow is central to her work, visible in soft transitions, curved lines, and balanced forms.

Her work is inspired by architecture, the textures and forms of nature, and fragments of her visual memory. She aims for her works to feel personal, thoughtful, and approachable, connecting people to both the material and the moment in which they were created.
