Merry Hexmas
Christmas has come to the Quarter, and that means big things for Ofelia Archer.
Her father is getting out of the hospital for a holiday visit, she’s about to meet two future sisters-in-law for the first time, and this is her first Christmas with her fiancé.
She should be on top of the world.
There’s just one little problem.
Bodies are showing up around the French Quarter, what looks to be candy canes pierced through their hearts. When those candy canes are removed, some of the victims come back, and they’re different people. Not zombies or anything, but suddenly better people than they were when they were stabbed. It seems they’ve been imbued with the Christmas spirit out of nowhere.
And some others aren’t coming back at all.
The attacks have “demon” written all over them. This demon, however, thinks he’s Santa Claus. He wears the suit and everything.
Ofelia is determined to have a good holiday. She just has a fight to finish before she can get to the nog and presents of it all.
It’s going to be a doozy of a fight.

Cozy Pairings

Speakeasy is a rich and layered fragrance that opens with warm spice and soft smoke, blending cardamom, incense, and pimento berry. At its heart, notes of saffron, plum blossom, and tobacco leaves create a deep and slightly sweet warmth, while hints of licorice add a subtle intrigue. The scent settles into a smooth, lingering base of palo santo, patchouli, vanilla, and dark chocolate, bringing a soft sweetness to its darker edges. Complex and atmospheric, this fragrance feels warm, enveloping, and quietly captivating.
Why we chose this: Ofelia Archer owns New Orleans' premier supernatural speakeasy on Bourbon Street, and between zombies, succubi, vampire gangs, goblin kings, and a fiancé who is a panther shifter detective, her life has never once been quiet. Speakeasy is the candle for every book in this series not just by name but by nature, rich with smoky cardamom and the deep warmth of dark chocolate and palo santo, the scent of a French Quarter evening where the magic runs strong and the drinks run stronger. Light this candle and let the layered, atmospheric richness fill the room like a speakeasy on Bourbon Street where the bartender knows everyone's secrets and the night is always just getting started.
