Lemon mug

Cozy vibes: This mug feels like a fresh morning with crisp air drifting through open windows and something citrusy lingering nearby. It carries the unhurried comfort of a warm drink before the day fully finds you. There’s a brightness to the lemon and leaf palette that makes everything around it feel a little more awake, a little more intentional. It looks beautiful filled and equally beautiful sitting empty on a shelf, which is perhaps the highest compliment a mug can receive.

Dark green branches spread across the surface, painted with detailed, confident leaves that cluster and overlap naturally. Bright yellow lemons hang from the stems, painted in bold, sunny strokes that make the whole piece feel immediately alive. A fine line of deep green traces the rim, tying the painted branches to the edge of the mug in a detail that feels considered and complete. The handle is glazed entirely in the same deep forest green as the rim, a chunky, curled form that finishes with an elegant flourish at the base. Together the green and yellow against the white ground create a palette that feels simultaneously fresh and timeless. Designed to hold ~230 ml (8 oz) comfortably.

Each of our handmade ceramics are made by independent artists in small batches.‍

Handmade ceramics carry the marks of their making. Variations in color, texture, and form reflect the artist’s process. Each piece is shaped by hand, just once, and in its own way, making it uniquely yours.

About the artist: This piece was made by Maryam, a ceramic artist based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Originally from Iran, Maryam has lived in Georgia for nearly a decade and discovered ceramics after touching clay for the first time. What began as an immediate love quickly became a life’s work.

Only a few months after she began working with clay, Maryam started teaching ceramics herself. Since then, she has taught more than 150 students in English, Georgian, and Persian, sharing not only technique but also the simple pleasure of making something by hand. Her love of teaching is woven into her studio practice, from ceramic classes to tutorials, and it is clear that she sees clay as something meant to be shared.

Over time, Maryam has become a well-known ceramic artist in Georgia, with her work featured on Georgian television and in local media. Each piece she creates carries her bright, generous spirit. Expressive florals, fruits, leaves, bold handles, playful forms, and hand-painted details that makes every mug feel alive. Her designs feel both whimsical and practical, made for daily rituals but full of personality. Each of Maryam's pieces are made with love and care from her home studio in Tbilisi.
