Lavender mug

Cozy vibes: This mug has the feeling of a slow Sunday when you have nowhere to be. There is something about lavender that feels calming, like its asking you to slow down. Fill it with chamomile or something warm and floral, find a quiet corner, and let the afternoon take its time. It is the kind of mug that makes the ordinary feel a little more intentional.

Sprigs of lavender are painted across the surface in deep purple and violet, each one rising from a cluster of dark green leaves at the base. The blooms are rendered sprig by sprig, with small petal details that give each stalk its own quiet texture. Three sprigs wrap the body at even intervals, visible from every angle, so the mug looks considered no matter which way it faces. The rim rises and dips gently where the clay moved during shaping, and the looped handle is glazed entirely in a soft, matte purple that picks up the painted blooms and ties the whole piece together without competing with it. From above, all three sprigs are visible at once, arranged like a small garden. Every element was painted by hand. Designed to hold ~230 ml (8 oz) comfortably.

Each of our handmade ceramics are made by independent artists in small batches.‍

Handmade ceramics carry the marks of their making. Variations in color, texture, and form reflect the artist’s process. Each piece is shaped by hand, just once, and in its own way, making it uniquely yours.

About the artist: This piece was made by Maryam, a ceramic artist based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Originally from Iran, Maryam has lived in Georgia for nearly a decade and discovered ceramics after touching clay for the first time. What began as an immediate love quickly became a life’s work.

Only a few months after she began working with clay, Maryam started teaching ceramics herself. Since then, she has taught more than 150 students in English, Georgian, and Persian, sharing not only technique but also the simple pleasure of making something by hand. Her love of teaching is woven into her studio practice, from ceramic classes to tutorials, and it is clear that she sees clay as something meant to be shared.

Over time, Maryam has become a well-known ceramic artist in Georgia, with her work featured on Georgian television and in local media. Each piece she creates carries her bright, generous spirit. Expressive florals, fruits, leaves, bold handles, playful forms, and hand-painted details that makes every mug feel alive. Her designs feel both whimsical and practical, made for daily rituals but full of personality. Each of Maryam's pieces are made with love and care from her home studio in Tbilisi.
