Bright Dark Curses
Lights, camera, curses!
It's official—I'm the luckiest witch ever! I have my own witchy shop, a great boyfriend, and my favorite book is being turned into a movie right here in Olmeda.
Okay, so the shop is still on probation, Ian is still busy with the fallout from Halloween, and the movie has brought back the city's most infamous curse—anyone filming in Olmeda will come to regret it.
When magic-involved incidents start happening on the movie set, the strays and I are asked to investigate. Unfortunately, there’s no shortage of suspects and motives, and, as the saboteur grows bolder and one of the local shifters is injured, we’re also short on time to figure out who it is.
To make things worse, there’s an undercover Council witch in my shop with a cold attitude and a potion test. If I fail it, they might take the shop away. If I don’t find the person sabotaging the movie, they might escalate the violence. If Ian doesn’t return home ASAP, I might expire from longing.
Olmeda might be the one currently cursed, but I'm starting to think I'm a little cursed myself!

Cozy Pairings

Witches Brew is an earthy and softly floral fragrance that opens with warm clove and gentle spice, creating an immediate sense of familiarity. At its heart, delicate violet brings a subtle sweetness that lifts and softens the richness of dark patchouli. The base is deep and grounding, with smoky, woodsy notes that linger in the air, balanced by a soft warmth. Smooth and atmospheric, this scent feels both comforting and a little unexpected, blending warmth, earth, and soft florals into something subtly captivating.
Why we chose this: Hope runs a witch shop on the strength of her grandmother's legacy and a positive attitude, and keeps getting pulled into magical investigations despite having modest power and extremely good intentions. From dark magic potion requests to Halloween pentagrams to cursed movie sets and upside-down magic plaguing the town, the trouble never stops and neither does Hope. Witches Brew carries the earthy, warm, community-rooted depth of a series where magic is domestic and personal and tied up with family, the scent of a small shop where the spells are carefully made and the heart behind them matters more than the power. It is the candle for every book in this series. Light this candle and let the grounding warmth fill the room like a witch shop on a busy day when the affirmations are posted on the wall and something is definitely about to go sideways.
