A Prayer for the Crown-Shy
A Prayer for the Crown-Shy is a story of kindness and love from one of the foremost practitioners of hopeful SF.
After touring the rural areas of Panga, Sibling Dex (a Tea Monk of some renown) and Mosscap (a robot sent on a quest to determine what humanity really needs) turn their attention to the villages and cities of the little moon they call home.
They hope to find the answers they seek, while making new friends, learning new concepts, and experiencing the entropic nature of the universe.
Becky Chambers's new series continues to ask: in a world where people have what they want, does having more even matter?

Cozy Pairings

Langston is a warm and expressive fragrance that opens with spiced notes of nutmeg and clove, softened by the richness of worn leather. At its heart, delicate jasmine and smoky cade add depth and complexity, creating a balance between softness and warmth. The scent settles into a smooth base of vanilla, sandalwood, and amber, bringing a gentle sweetness and a lasting warmth. Layered and inviting, this fragrance feels both comforting and full of character, with a richness that lingers beautifully in the air.
Why we chose this: Sibling Dex is a tea monk of some renown, and Mosscap is a robot on a quest to understand what people truly need, and together they are asking the most important question in a world that already has everything. Langston carries the warm, thoughtful, beautifully layered quality of a series this quiet and purposeful, the scent of a life considered carefully and lived with intention. It is the candle for every book in this series. Light this candle as Dex and Mosscap set off together, and let the warmth of spice and sandalwood fill the room like a long conversation on a slow afternoon, unhurried and full of the kind of questions that matter.
